This section will guide you on who to contact in the event of a crisis. A crisis is any situation from there is or has been an immediate danger to yourself or others. These contacts are free to use but most be done so in a responsible manner.

Police

Open 24 hours a day and accessed via 999 or 101.

999 should only be used in an emergency. An emergency is when someone is at risk of getting injured, bring threatened or a crime or is being committed and is in progress.

101 should be used for all other enquires, advice on police matters and to report crimes which have already happened, where there is no sign of an offender.

The Police are a trusted, free service in the UK and you should have no fear or hesitancy in contacting them when appropriate.

Nightline

Nightline is run entirely by student volunteers, and serves students studying at the University. It is a confidential listening and signposting service.

University Security

The University Security Service operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year and is always available to assist students, staff and visitors on any security related issue.

Residences Support for students living in halls

The Residences Support Service is a dedicated team who are the first point of contact for residents out of hours. We are available every night, every day of the year, between 18.00 and 08.00.
