Table Tennis

Sports Development

We are a friendly table tennis club for both recreational and serious players.

There is a 2 hour casual session on every Sunday, where any standard of player is welcome.

During the recreational sessions, we sometimes run a training sessions where we can teach you and improve your skills at table tennis.

We also have both mens and womens team in the BUCS league, run team training and a weekend to the BUCS individual championships. Socials are on a regular basis!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us. Contact via the Facebook page is preferable over our society email, as you will receive a faster response than via the society email.

As of 2015 the Sunday Recreation sessions, open to all levels of experience are in the Activities Room. We also run team training sessions once a week. See Facebook for details of any further sessions.

Membership Information

These are the current membership plans offered by Table Tennis, although many groups offer a free period for new members to try out their group.

  • SUTTC Year Membership (£15)
For the price of £15, every member of the club can enjoy the weekly Sunday recreational sessions for the year and occasionally extra sessions we have booked. The annual price goes mostly towards covering small expenses during the year such as the occasional ordering of table tennis balls and bats/nets for the club when they are worn and broken. With our aim to improve the overall experience you have in the club, some of the expenses are used to buy or upgrade equipments for your benefit such as better balls and bats. We also provide training to members who are interested in improving their skill.

Catholic Society

Southampton University Catholic Society (CathSoc) is an open and friendly community of Catholic students from all over the world - we have over 36 nationalities represented among our ~150 members. Our main activity is hosting a Sunday Mass on campus every week during term time - we also organise social events (such as international food and dance evening, trips to the New Forest, trips to Sprinkles Ice Cream Shop, a Christmas Dinner and Summer Ball every year) and opportunities to profess and deepen our faith through prayer and worship groups. We also go retreats both in the UK and during the summer holiday we go to international trips. In the past we have been to Brazil, Italy and this coming we hope to go to Poland. All this for World Youth Day an international event lasting a week in any country of the world where we meet with the Pope, so worship pray and strengthen in our faith. We are not an evangelistic group but we reach out to the local community through our links with CAFOD and local parishes, mainly Immaculate Conception in Portswood and St Edmund's on The Avenue. The society is based at the Chaplaincy with support from our chaplain, Sr Catherine and a committee of students who run the society and the Masses. Anyone is welcome to join us for Mass on Sunday - just turn up at 6.30pm to the Nightingale Building (Building 67) in Highfield Campus. There is usually food afterwards :-) We are predominately Roman Catholics, but we have members from the Eastern Rite and the Orthodox Community regularly joining us. If you've made it this far, you should at least come and meet us now! We're very welcoming and very normal - see you on Sunday?
