We are the University of Southampton Mixed Martial Arts Society. We specialise in Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), with additional wrestling and pure MMA classes.
Muay Thai is a striking martial art using fists, elbows, knees and shins. Thai Boxing techniques have seen great success in mixed martial arts competitions such as the UFC in recent years.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a submissions orientated grappling martial art, and another necessity in MMA. Most of our classes are no-gi, but we are planning on expanding with gi classes this year.
We also have wrestling and pure MMA classes on, and have discounted membership at the local Exile Shirley Gym.
Whether you're looking to become a fighter, learn self defence, or just get fit, we provide it all. Sparring is optional, so don't feel like we're going to make you fight, though if you're interested in that we regularly take part in interclub competitions all though the year.

Students for Palestine at the University of Southampton is a non-profit, non-religious, and non-politically affiliated student society that is open to absolutely anyone interested in our cause. We are committed to raising awareness on the Palestinian issue through campaigning. Building links with activists in Southampton and across the UK as well as campaigning on campus aims to increase support for peace and justice in Palestine and call for the observation of international human rights. We also aim to facilitate cross-cultural understanding and engage new audience in the Palestinian heritage through art and folklore.
