We cater for swimmers and lifesavers of any ability; you can come and have a casual swim with us and learn some skills, or improve existing ones & join us at inter university competitions.
With us, you can learn vital skills that one day, can help you when it really matters.
Our club attended 10 competitions in 2014/15 and with 12 competition dates set for this year, including the iconic London Aquatics Centre, we need members like you to further our successes.
No experience is necessary! Just come along on a Tuesday at 8pm, Jubilee Pool and a Thursday at 18:30 in the SUSU entrance, and we will meet you there!
On TUESDAYS we have a two hour swimming session, 8pm-10pm, where we do an hour of general fitness and run Scenario Training. Scenarios are where you have two minutes to treat people whilst in teams of four.
On THURSDAYS we meet in the clubs and socs room, and teach you essential lifesaving skills such as bandaging and CPR. The final hour (8-9pm) is race training in the pool. Examples are Towing a person for a length and swimming under gates.
These are the current membership plans offered by Lifesaving , although many groups offer a free period for new members to try out their group.
Year membership (£45) This membership covers all entry to university competitions throughout the year. It also allows you to attend (with sport and wellbeing membership) all of our dry and wet training sessions & covers some costs for external coaches.
