Sports Development

Acro Yoga is an adaptation of yoga which involves acrobatics, balance, core strength and let's you fly!.

We will be offering two free weekly sessions: Fridays are aimed more at people who have already attended a couple of sessions while Wednesdays are aimed at beginners. If you're a beginner or worried about your flexibility just give it a go - we will cater to everyone! :)

Our two weekly sessions will be held as follows throughout the academic year:
Wednesdays in Building 54/8031 18.00-20.00
Fridays at Clubs & Socs Room 17:00 - 19:00

Membership is £5 and can be paid to our treasurer at any of the sessions and will be to cover initial mat costs and also will be used towards any Acro workshops with external instructors.

Sessions are free for members and £2 for non-members.

Membership Information

These are the current membership plans offered by AcroYoga, although many groups offer a free period for new members to try out their group.

  • Year Membership (£5)
    To cover yoga mat costs and workshops from external instructors.

Ballet Society

Performing Arts

The ballet society is for all those with a love of ballet. We hope to cater for everyone by providing relaxed and fun ballet classes at 4 levels: beginners, improvers, intermediate, and advanced. So whether you have been dancing for as long as you can remember or are looking to try ballet for the first time, or even if you are just looking for a great way to stay flexible and fit, we hope you come along and get involved. As well as ballet classes, we have an active social calendar with events ranging from visits to the theatre to nights out on the town. We also run competition squads who have competed very successfully at inter-university dance competitions. Regular class attendees are also invited to perform in the annual 'Pure Dance' show, which showcases the work of Southampton University Dance Societies.
